Philip Sylvester
Philip Sylvester joined Pinsly Railroad Company in June 2026 as Assistant Vice President & General Manager of the Florida Gulf & Atlantic Railroad (FGA) and the Georgiana & Andalusia Railroad (GAR).
Philip brings more than 13 years of railroad leadership experience spanning operations, engineering, safety, customer service, and infrastructure management. Prior to joining Pinsly, he served as General Manager for four short line railroads, where he led 24/7 operations, oversaw financial performance and capital programs, strengthened safety culture, and developed high-performing teams. Earlier in his career, Philip held engineering and maintenance leadership positions with Norfolk Southern and other regional railroads.
Philip earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida A&M University, graduating cum laude, and was inducted into the Florida A&M University Sports Hall of Fame in 2025. He is actively involved in community service and serves as a board member of the Renaissance Park Youth and Family Center in Marianna, Florida, where he has helped secure more than $1 million in grants and donations to support youth and community initiatives.
